Phelps, N. Y. - Mrs. Hawks, wife of the late B. F. Hawks, formerly of this place, died in New York, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Martin Brush, on Monday. The remains were brought to Phelps, arriving here yesterday morning, and the funeral services were held in the M. E. church, of which she had long been a member, in the afternoon. The interment was made in the Phelps cemetery.

Samuel L Drake b. 1800 in Chemung County N.Y., d. abt 1880 in Fairfield, Lenawee Co. Michigan is a brother of Hannah Hawks (Drake) and Abigail Thompson (Drake). In 1850 Samuel L. & Polly Drake along with [(Joshua & Abigail Thompson) and Benjamin F. & Hannah Hawks)] sold land passed down from Eunice and Samuel Drake to a Robert Raymond. Abigail was also born in Chemung County N.Y. and lived in Hopewell, Ontario County in 1850. Samuel L Drake lived in Hopewell in 1840.
