Annette M. Hayes, 80, of Lower Towamensing Township, died Monday in Blue Mountain Health System, Palmerton. She was the wife of Robert Peter Pete Hayes. They marked their 58th anniversary in September. She worked as a secretary for the former New Jersey Zinc Co., Palmerton, and the Palmerton Library Association. She also worked as church secretary and church financial secretary for First United Church of Christ, Palmerton, for more than 50 years. During her 55-year membership at First U.C.C., she was a member of the choir and bell choir. She was a past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gnaden Huetten Chapter, 203, and a 53-year O.E.S. member. Born in Allentown, she was a daughter of the late William F. and Pauline F. (Dilliard) Greene.
Survivors: Husband; son, William F. of Palmerton and John C. of Allentown; three grandchildren.
Services: memorial, 11 a.m. Thursday in church, 457 Delaware Ave., Palmerton. Call 10:30-11 a.m. in church. Arrangements, T.K. Thomas Funeral Home, Palmerton.
