DANIEL LENN GRIMES, son of David Daniel and Sharlene Gertrude Bennett Grimes, was born December 29, 1957, in Lebanon, Missouri and departed this life March 21, 2015, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-seven years.
Danny, as he was known to family and friends, attended school in Lebanon, and made many dear friends through the years. Danny remained in Lebanon for the duration of his life.
On June 11, 1978, Danny was united in marriage with the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Ogle. To this union was born three children. Danny and Dorothy had celebrated thirty-six years of love and laughter together.
Danny was a hard worker. He worked in construction and took great pride in completing projects in a timely manner. He was appreciated by his clients for his attention to detail.
When he wasn’t working, Danny enjoyed being outdoors. He especially enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. However, time spent and memories made with his family are what he treasured most.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy; one son, Eric Grimes and his fiancée Ashley Cromer; one daughter, Jennifer Grimes and her fiancée Levi Jones; his mother, Sharlene Grimes; two brothers, Dennis Grimes and his wife Barbara, and Dewayne Grimes and his wife Lindsay, all of Lebanon, MO; three sisters, Debbie Hicks of Lebanon, MO, Deanna Moentmann and her husband Roger and Dana Harper and her husband Darren, all of Camdenton, MO; one grandson, Gage Jones; his mother-in-law, Betty Barber, also of Lebanon; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Danny was preceded in death by his father; and an infant daughter.
Danny was a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will cherish every memory. He will be greatly missed.
