Nancy (Gregory) Hamrick, was born Oct. 10, 1792, in Bath Co., Virginia. Her father, Isaac Gregory, and mother, Sarah Given, moved to Webster County, (West) Virginia, when she was 12 years old. At the age of 19 she married Benjamin Hamrick, son of Benjamin and Nancy (McMillian) Hamrick with whom she lived until his death in June 1863. Jane Hamrick, her youngest sister and wife of William, a brother of her husband, Benjamin, died on the same morning three hours before Mother Hamrick died. Jane dropped dead while putting on her shoes. Their bodies are in one grave on the Elk River. The Republican Delta, Monday, Nov 3, 1873
