George was the eldest son of Stephen and Sarah (Young) Conklin. He married Gertrude in 1906 and had two children - George Jr. surviving to adulthood. At some point they adopted a daughter Helen who was born in 1917 but didn't appear with them until the 1925 NYState census. He was a member of the Church Musical Society of Peekskill and had a fine bass voice. He was a painter (carriages and then houses) most of his life.
The family moved to Hartford, CT sometime after that 1925 NYState census to be near his brother and sister.
After Gertrude died in 1928, he married 51yr. old Hannah H. in 1929. He died between 1930 and 1935 in Hartford.
Survived by his 2nd wife; married son George Jr. and daughter Helen all in Hartford.
