Cornelius Connolly, who struck the blow, is under arrest. Both men were inmates of the Soldiers' Home. Both men were about 65 years of age. Col. George Robbins, superintendent of the Home, said that Connolly entered the barracks Tuesday night, intoxicated. Albee was directed, he said to arrest, and confine him in the guard house. When he attempted to do so, Connolly resisted. The men clinched on a platform, about 8 x 9 feet, and according to a witness, Connolly hit Albee on the point of the jaw and knocked him down a flight of seven or eight steps. He was dead when people reached him. Until an autopsy is made it cannot be determined definitely whether Albe was killed by the blow or whether his death was due to heart disease or apoplexy.
