The 1920 Census shows Charley Mendenhall (age 47) living in Union Township with his mother Malinda (age 67). The 1930 Census shows Charles (age 59) and Ada (age 51) Mendenhall living in Beech Grove, Indiana.

Mrs. Ada Mendenhall, wife of Charles Mendenhall, former residents of this county, died at her home in Beech Grove, Friday, at the age of 60 years. She was the daughter of Silas and Rebecca Davidson. Funeral services were held at the Mont Clair Christian church, Sunday afternoon, with burial in the K. of P. cemetery, Lizton. Survivors with the husband are a daughter, Mrs. Inez Hayes of Maplewood; six grandchildren and one great grandson; Mrs. W. E. Cox and Mrs. C. E. Burrows of Indianapolis, sisters; and Theodore of Southport, and Robert of Detroit, Mich., brothers.
