Wilbert (Flip) Albrecht, 45, a lifelong resident of Worden, died suddenly Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at his clubhouse near Jerseyville. He had been under the care of a physician for a heart condition.
Born Nov. 17, 1914 in Worden, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Albrecht, Worden Route 1. He was married to Leona Prante on July 22, 1944 in Garland, Nebr.
Surviving in addition to his parents and his wife, are a daughter Bonnie and a brother, Elmer Albrecht of Worden. He was preceded in death by a sister, Norma.
Mr. Albrecht, who served in the U.S. Army during World War II, had been employed by a construction company as a truck driver. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church in Worden, American Legion Post 564 and treasurer of the Worden Volunteer Fire department.
Friends may call at the Williamson funeral home, Worden, after 2 p.m. Tuesday until noon Wednesday when the body will be taken to Trinity Lutheran church there to lie in state until the 2 p.m. services. The Rev. W.L. Stellwagen will officiate. Burial will be in the Worden Lutheran cemetery.
Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by American Legion Post 564.
