Lauretta Achter, age 96, formerly of St. Cloud, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015, at the Villa Loretto Nursing Home in Mount Calvary.
The former Lauretta Schram was born June 30, 1918, in the Town of Marshfield to the late Joseph & Clara (Seurer) Schram.
On July 13, 1937, she married Clifford Achter at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe. Clifford preceded her in death on December 20, 1989. She and her husband farmed in the Town of Marshfield in the St. Joe area; in addition, Lauretta worked at Tecumseh Engine Products in New Holstein.
She was a member of St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church and the Christian Women’s Society.
Lauretta is survived by her daughter, Lilly Mae (Anthony) Baus of Fond du Lac; her son, Paul (Lois) Achter of New Holstein; daughters-in-law, Janice Achter of Las Vegas and Alice Achter of Kiel; son-in-law, James Schoenborn (friend, Nancy) of Johnsburg; 16 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Joseph & Clara Schram, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; daughter, Joan Schoenborn; sons, Daniel & John Achter and a brother, Lawrence (Faith) Schram.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at St. Isidore Parish-St. Joseph Church in St. Joe (W620 County Road G St. Cloud, WI 53079). Rev. Gary Wegner, OFM Cap. will officiate. Lauretta will be laid to rest next to her husband in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Family and friends may greet the family at the Sippel Funeral Home 1311 Thorp Street St. Cloud, WI 53079 on Monday, April 13th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at the church in St. Joe on Tuesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:15 AM.
A parish vigil service will be held at the funeral home Monday evening at 7:00 PM.
