Dorothy Greenway Mitchell French, 96, passed away on April 9, 2015. She was the daughter of Grover C. Greenway and Ola Dunnahoo Greenway Duke. She was born in Banks County, GA but lived in Upson County during her childhood and young adult life.

She was a 1935 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School. She was a Georgia Licensed Funeral Director and was co-owner of Mitchell Funeral Home in Hapeville, GA for many years and was associated with the Howard L. Carmichael & Sons Funeral Home in East Point and Peachtree City for thirty years.

She was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church of Fayetteville, a member of the order of the Eastern Star and the Hapeville Historical Society.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert R. Mitchell in 1963, and Frank S. French in 1975; and her Father, her Mother and Sisters, Lois G. Birdsong and Lenora G. Weaver.

She is survived by her son, Ray and Betty Mitchell of Fayetteville; her granddaughter, Beth Hall of Sharpsburg; her grandson , Ray Mitchell of Senoia; and her great-grandchild Ashleigh Hall of Sharpsburg.

The funeral service will be at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Mowell Funeral Home, Peachtree City, with Pastor Ken Helms officiating. The burial will be at 2:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at Southview Cemetery in Thomaston, GA.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 13, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 P.M.
