Early Lincoln Resident
Mrs. Linda Dean, a pioneer resident of Lincoln township, died Saturday at a hospital in Sioux City after a lingering illness. Mrs. Dean was 68 years old and had been living in Sioux City the last fourteen years.
Mrs. Dean was born near Kalamazoo, Mich., August 11, 1860, and lived there several years and then came to Plymouth county with other members of her family who were early settlers in Lincoln township.
Surviving are her widower, a son Darwin of Casper, Wyo., two daughters, Marvel and Effie Dean, of Sioux City; two brothers, Perry Sager, of Sioux City, and Emery Sager of Denver, Colo., and a sister, Mrs. L. Wright, of Sioux City.
Celinda (Linda) Jane Sager was married to Clay Henry Dean on January 23, 1884 in Plymouth County, Iowa. They had 4 children together. Darwin, Marvel, Zeffie, and a 2 day old infant. Marvel, Zeffie, Clay, and Linda are buried together at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City, Iowa. Darwin is buried in another section of the cemetery.
