He was married to Elnor Elizabeth (Helm) Stilz (1892-1946), the daughter of De Helm and Mary Louise (Schmitz) Stilz.
A retired auto mechanic and garage owner and living on McChesney Avenue, Nashville, he was 60 years old and a widower when he died of a cerebral hemorrhage at 121 Fairfax, Nashville. Burial was three days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
