Daryl Richard "Bubba" Baier, 54, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, February 25th, at Salina Regional Health Center. Daryl was born in Fort Riley, Kansas, on July 24, 1960, a son of Donalda (Augustowski) and Harold Baier. Daryl worked as a laborer for many years in roofing and highway construction. He was a gifted artist who was talented in drawing and playing the guitar. His love of music spanned several genres. Over the years his love of animals was apparent in the adoption of everything from ducks to dogs. With his love of nature he even named the wild animals that came to his door. Daryl’s world view was unique and he was a generous, kind, and compassionate man.

Survivors include, his parents; step-mom, Patricia Baier; one brother, Bryan Baier, of Salina; three sisters, Debi Holcomb and husband, Cary of Manhattan, Kansas, Jennifer O’Connell and husband, Duce of Wichita, Kansas, and Amanda Foust of Salina; three nieces; Tasha, Sara, and Kaela; great niece, Alyce; and two great nephews, Tyler and Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Justin.

At the family's request there was no visitation. A Memorial Service was held at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, on Monday, March 2nd, in which Pastor Ron Bowell officiated.
