Hal Michael Bellinghusen, 64, was born November 27, 1950 in Carroll to Joseph and Joyce Bellinghausen. He passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Hal attended Jefferson Community Schools for many years before graduating from Grand Junction High School and served in the Air Force during the Vietnam era. He lived in New York after the service, moving back to Iowa in the late 1990s.

Hal worked 10 years as a para-educator, retiring 2 years ago. Hal was a very active member of his church, Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny. He enjoyed fishing and watching professional baseball and hockey.

Hal is survived by his wife, Teresa; step-children, Joel (Candace) Robertson, Joshua (Roschelle Johnson) Robertson, Jordan (Jonathan) Hicks, and Jared (Lindsey) Robertson; children, Cory, Kelli and Eric; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Dale; sisters, Shawn Jacobsen, Dawn Halligan and Misti Murphy along with a host of other family and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope Ankeny, 520 NW 36th Street in Ankeny.
