Millard was an attorney at law. Just before he became ill, he was promoted to a judgeship. He was 65 years of age when he died, and was a judge only a very short amount of time. What he died from is unknown.
From the obituary, he would have been 4 years old, when moving to Griffin. Spalding County, itself, was made up from parts of three other counties and actually became a county in 1852.
