GEORGE PRESCOTT VALENTINE
On 12 Apr 1883 Henry Ellsworth Valentine and Addie Evelyn Roe united in marriage. Henry and Addie had a little daughter named Bessie May who died before her second birthday. She was born on 07 Oct 1886 and died 09 Jul 1888. On 29 April 1889, George Prescott Valentine was born and sadly on 05 May 1889 his mother died, for reasons unknown but perhaps due to complications in childbirth. Henry was now a widower who had lost his little daughter and his wife all in the span of only 10 months. It must have been a time of grief for his losses and joy for the birth of his infant son. On 29 Sept 1890 Henry was united in marriage to Miss Rhoda Ann Garner. Rhoda Ann raised George Prescott with the same tender care that she gave her own 3 children. George attended school in York Co., Stewart Twp, Nebraska as a boy. George and his first wife, Opal, had three children together, Clark, Morris and Arnold. Occupations that George held were 'brick mason' and in 1920 while living in rural Nebraska, he was a 'manager at a cream station'. George Prescott's namesake was Henry's brother Arthur Prescott Valentine.
