Sandy was born on June 23, 1966, in Wadsworth to Jimmie Crowe and Linda (Crowe) Beech and graduated from Wadsworth High School, class of 1986, where she was a 4.0 student and played third base on the softball team. She attended Kent State University and later received a nursing degree from the Wayne County Schools Career Center. She worked as a LPN for numerous nursing homes and hospitals in the area. On August 23, 2014 she married Douglas A. Short in Orrville.
Sandy was a member of First Baptist Church in Orrville, where she served in missions. She enjoyed her dogs, shopping at thrift stores, and keeping her home tidy. She will be remembered as a caregiver who loved her husband, her church, her family and her friends.
Surviving are her husband, Douglas A. Short of Orrville, mother, Linda (Ron) Beech of Wadsworth; father, Jimmie (Marilyn) Crowe of Wadsworth; sons, Max (Blair) Vilayseng and Alex (Lai Lai Xiong) Vilayseng of Orrville; daughter, Taylor (Jimmy Ullman) Vilayseng of Orrville; grandchildren, Na-Zaria Short and Mia Jane Vilayseng; special children, Javeon, Bronye, Seniyah, and Skihe; brothers, Tim (Colleen) Crowe of Massillon, and Billy Crowe of Wadsworth; sister, Tara Crowe of Doylestown; half-sister, Danielle Rankin of Wadsworth; step-brother, Tim Beech of Wadsworth; brothers-in-law, Eric (Liz) Short and Donald (Monica) Short, both of Orrville, Robert Howard II of Canton, Rick Howard of Massillon; and sister-in-law, Tonya (Kevin) Hubbard of India.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Lois Hargis.
Services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Calvary Assembly of God, 2061 Wadsworth Road, Orrville, with the Rev. Nathan Poole officiating. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wadsworth.
Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m., prior to the service.
