Marlys Stroh, 81, of Bowdon, passed away at 4:45 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey, where she has been a resident since July 17, 2014.
Marlys was born on May 2, 1933 at the Harvey Hospital in Harvey.
She was the daughter of the late Sylvester and Evelyn (Rothacker) Knudtson.
The Family lived in Carrington and moved to Harvey in 1946.
Marlys graduated from Harvey High School in 1952.
She worked in restraurants in the area.
Marlys married Kenneth D. Stroh on June 24,1953 at the famlies farm in Heaton, ND.
In 1956 Marlys, Kenneth and there two children Susan and Kent moved to Anaconda.
They raised six children and managed the Eagles Club in Anaconda, MT.
She worked as a waitress at the China Cafe and was the bartender for the Wonder Bar.
Marlys enjoyed trips back to North Dakota, California, visiting family.
She loved camping with the family, playing cards with family and friends
In later years she loved her time with all the grand children, family get togethers as well as all the family re-unions and surprise birthday parties.
She also enjoyed her evening drives with her husband Kenneth to watch the beautiful sunset.
In 1982 Marlys and Kenneth moved back to Heaton to take care of his ailing Mother, Martha.
In 1985, Marlys and Kenneth moved into Bowdon.
Mom, you are loved and will greatly be missed! Love You.
Marlys was preceded in death by her parents, brother Duane L. Knudtson in 2012.
Marlys was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bowdon.
Marlys is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth of Bowdon.
Daughter's; Susan DeVries (Duane Morlock), Kim Banta, Janeen Bonney.
Son's: Kent (Laura) Stroh, Mike (Karen) Stroh, Hal (Roxi) Stroh.
Sister-in-law Linda Knudtson.
22 grandchildren, 47 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.
Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Also survived by extended family, Pam and Lyle Stewart and Kathy and Gary Widicker of Bowdon.
Per her request, cremation has taken place.
Burial will be in the Seventh Day Adventsit Cemetery, in Bowdon.
Funeral Service: Monday, 4/20/2015 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
