Hazleton Plain Speaker; Thursday, December 1, 1955:
Carl A. Kertzel, 61, a native and life-long resident of Hazleton, died at St. Joseph Hospital at 10:45 o'clock this morning. A resident of 588 North Wyoming street, he had been ill for three weeks. He was a son of the late Gus and Ann Smith Kertzel and was a well-known carpenter. He was a member of Grace Reformed church and the Carpenters Union.

Surviving are his wife, Blanche Engler Kertzel, and one daughter, Mrs. William Sauers of this city. A granddaughter also survives.

Wyoming St. Funeral Saturday at 2:30 p.m., with services at the Krapf & Hughes Funeral Home, 426 W. Broad St. Interment in Mt. Laurel Memorial Park.
