William Holmes, 77, of Mishicot, retired veteran employe of the Manitowoc County Highway Dept. died Saturday afternoon at Rockwood Convalescent Home, new Franken, Brown County, where he had been a patient seven years.

Funeral services will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, the Rev. Anthony Betley officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Holmes was born Sept. 12, 1884, at Sterling, Ill., son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Holmes. He married the former Katherine Bonk at Sterling in 1903?. She died in 1920??. From 1922 to 1930 the family resided at Two Rivers, moving to Mishicot.

Besides his wife, the former Ann Blum?, whom he married July 12, 1923, at St. Louis, Mo., he leaves two daughters, Mrs. Ambrose Gadzinsky of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, and Mrs. William LaRose of Mishicot; five sons, Wilbur, Elwood and William, of Mishicot, Warren E., of Manitowoc and Allan, of Appleton, 23 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock this Monday evening.
