Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Presiding the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. John P. Puodziunas, with entombment to follow at the Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
He was born August 25, 1921, at Turtle Lake, Wis., Son of the late Lawrence and Mary Ada Turner Hofslund. He married the former Lorraine Kohlmeyer June 17, 1942, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Manitowoc. Mr. Hofslund was an active member of MANCORAD, an amateur radio club. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Navy.
Survivors include his wife Lorraine Hoslund of Manitowoc; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Joel Hofslund, Jr., of Chicago, Ronald J. and Linda Hofslund of Neenah; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lynn and James Haasch of East Troy, Wis.; four grandchildren, Heather Hofslund, Heidi Hofslund, Ronald Seth Hofslund, Andrea Haasch,. Niece, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by four brothers.
There will no Tuesday evening visitation. The Pfeffer Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements.
Dad, you’ll always be a special man to me. You’ve taught me so much. I’ve never met another man who was as gentle but could fight for life so hard, or fight for what was right. I know now that you are finally at peace but you will always be with me, and I’ll always love you. You’ve always been there for us and you have shown us the true meaning of love.
