BECKETT DIES.
An Old Settler of Osecola Passes Away.
Osecola, Aug 14 - The soul of Robert Beckett, aged 73 years, an esteemed pioneer citizen of this city, passed over the river into the dominion from which the traveler never returns. His death was calm and peaceful. He had been drifting on the verge of the borderland for some months and death's visitation was a relief from the ills he bore. Mr Beckett was born in Indiana and came to Clarke county in 1853. He has filled many position of trust, among others being that of county treasurer. His wife and three children survive him.
