Bill Postoloski
1938 – 2014
William Postoloski of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the age of 76 years.
The burial service was held at the Vauxhall Cemetery on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 1:00 P.M.
A service was held at the Royal Canadian Legion, 217 - 5 Street North, Vauxhall on Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 2:00 P.M.
Bill is survived by two brothers Webster Michael Paskal and Fred Postoloski; four nephews, six nieces and numerous great nephews, great nieces and cousins.
He was predeceased by his father Fred Postoloski in 1954 and mother Rhona Postoloski (nee Paskal) in 2009; grandparents George and Sanchira Paskal and sister-in-law Diane Postoloski.
Bill was born September 14, 1938 in Lethbridge, the first son of Fred and Rhona Postoloski. He grew up on a farm north of Vauxhall, where he attended school in the district and also participated in 4-H. Bill left the farm with his mother and brother Fred in 1956 and moved to Calgary where he worked surveying for the government during the summers. After Olds Agricultural School, he surveyed for oil companies in the winter and surveyed for new housing developments in Calgary during the summer. Eventually he worked in Calgary permanently, surveying new housing developments (sewers and road ways in new areas} for the City of Calgary with a company called Strong Lamb and Nelson. About seventeen years ago, Bill retired due to health problems. During retirement he became a regular shopper at garage sales and accumulated many treasurers.
Bill was an avid upland bird hunter and spent many fall days in and around the Vauxhall Area with his cousins hunting geese, ducks and pheasants. He also treasured his family and always attended as many functions as possible whether it was a family reunion, wedding, anniversary or funeral, travelling to Lethbridge, Vauxhall, Campbell River and Fort McMurray to spend time with family and friends. Bill was a wonderful brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Bill’s name may be made directly to the charity of one’s choosing
