Born to Otis and Jewell Ross Waddle in Lexington, Tennessee.
Marie was a homemaker who kept her home and yards as if the president was coming at any minute. She will be remembered for the beauty of her home but more so for her dedicated Christian Life. Her life was one of example to all she came into contact with every day. As a Christian she was never ashamed of the Gospel and lived it to the best of her ability. She was a woman of faith, prayer, love and dedication. Her smile and laugh were special and contagious as she spread her joy to all she met. She was a dedicated and faithful Sunday school teacher for many years having taught at Gospel lighthouse Church, Linda Street Church of God, and Ruddle Road Church of God. She was a giving and sharing person of her time, finances and self. Her greatest attribute was no one left her presence hungry. She made sure you were fed both physically and spiritually. Because of her faith and beliefs, Tuesday evening was the greatest day of her life as she received the true desire of her heart. The desire to stand in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was finally achieved.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, W.C. "Clarence" Maxwell; her parents; and a sister, Elizabeth Mitchell.
Marie is survived by her children, Judge Ann Pugh of Germantown, Tennessee, and Betty Ray of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a grandson, Todd Ray (Marie) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a great-grandson, Jackson Ray; a brother, Sonny Waddle of Peoria, Illinois; and two sisters, Donna Humphrey of Peoria, Illinois and Linda Quin (Roger) of Washington, Illinois.
Funeral services were held at Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Jonesboro Memorial Park in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
