Mr. Kugler was born March 26, 1901 at Manitowoc, son of the late August and Barbara Bradl Kugler. He attended Manitowoc Schools and worked at local hardware stores and for Peterson Sheet Metal Works. Since 1941 he had been a sheet metal worker at the shipbuilding firm. He was also owner of the Kugler Bait and Tackle Shop and member of the Boilermakers Union Local 443.
He married the former Emma Pieschel July 26, 1922 at Manitowoc. He was a member of the Holy Name Society and the Manitowoc Chapter of the Izaak Walton League.
Surviving are his wife, a son, Earl C., and a daughter, Mrs. Major (Cyrilla) Marcus of Manitowoc and eight grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 pm Sunday where at 7:30 pm the Rosary will be recited.
