(special thanks to G-Man #46918562 for link to father. birthplace & the following info) Private, Company G, 7th Tennessee Cavalry, enlisted in Carroll County, Tennessee on 05 August 1862. Captured and paroled with the regiment at the battle of Trenton, Tennesse on 20 December 1862 . He reported to parole camp at Camp Chase in Columbus, Ohio, where he contracted measles and pneumonia. He was admitted to the hospital on 19 April 1863 where he died on 07 May 1863. He was placed in grave #16 but after the war was moved. He is the son of George P (Company G) and Elizabeth Woodall Holmes.
