Doris Rosebeary, 90, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2014, in Salem, OR. Doris (McCarver) Rosebeary was born to Doyle and Sarah Frances McCarver in Brea, CA on October 25, 1923. The family moved to Madison County, Arkansas, where they lived on a farm. She attended Pardy School in Madison County. Doris met Charles “Marvin” Rosebeary at the family store in Madison County. Doris and Marvin married and moved to Wenatchee, WA in 1940, where they raised their children, Charles, Gary, and Carolyn. Doris worked as a LPN at Deaconess Hospital. Doris and Marvin belonged to the Appleatchee Riders and rode their horses up the hill in East Wenatchee and on numerous trail rides in the Cascade Mountains and into the Pasayten Wilderness, where she rode Rusty into Canada, just because she could. Upon their retirement, Doris and Marvin became snowbirds, traveling to the Southern California desert, where Doris finally learned to swim. They moved to Maple Valley, WA and Leavenworth, WA, before returning to Wenatchee in 1991, where she moved next door to her best friend, Ruth Wiley Holm. Doris and Ruth were friends since Ruth was 19 and Doris was 23. They were nurses at Deaconess Hospital together. Our families were meshed together; Ruth and Doris walked at the park on the river, went to Farmer’s Market, shared meals, and went to senior center. They laughed together, and told silly jokes.
Doris was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Marvin; son, Charles; daughter-in-law, sweet Jeannie; grandson, Greg; brothers, Ivan, Wally, Ken, Mack, Jack and infant, Wilber; sisters, Vesta VanGelder and Reba Ayer; and best friend, Ruth Wiley Holm. Doris is survived by her son, Gary Rosebeary of Wenatchee, WA; daughter, Carolyn Patton (Bob) of Lyons, OR; grandchildren, John and Jessica Tafolla of Oroville, WA, and Andrea Tafolla of Salem, OR; and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as dozens of nieces and nephews.
Private Family Burial will be held at Evergreen Memorial Park in East Wenatchee. Please express your thoughts and memories on the online guestbook at jonesjonesbetts.com. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones~Betts Funeral Home, Wenatchee
