Redfield - Eulalia Beatrice Leesch, 95, of Redfield, S.D., died Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 8, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. Father William Osborn will officiate. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery in Redfield. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield.

Eulalia was born Dec. 28, 1910, in Frankfort, S.D., to Oliver and Barbara (Valder) Robinson. Eulalia graduated from Frankfort High School in 1929 and attended Notre Dame College in Mitchell, S.D., where she received her teaching certificate. She taught rural school in the Doland, Frankfort and Turton areas. On Feb. 10, 1934, she married Ernest Alfred Leesch at Faulkton, S.D. Together they farmed southeast of Ashton until Ernest died in 1964. In 1966, Eulalia moved to Redfield and began working in the Redfield School lunchroom, where she worked until 1974.

Eulalia was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Frankfort and then St. Bernard's Catholic Church, where she played the organ and was a member of the altar society.

Eulalia enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and followed their sports and other activities they were involved in. She was an avid baseball fan, following the Redfield Dairy Queen amateur baseball team and enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ernest, six brothers, four sisters and two grandchildren.
