Virginia Lee Hulse, 86, of Center, died at 12:04 a.m. Feb. 28, 1999, at Westview Nursing Home in Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Catholic Church near Center. Father Ken Brockel will officiate. Burial will be at St. Paul Cemetery.
Mrs. Hulse was born Sept. 30, 1912, in Ralls County to John L. and Ruby Leake O'Connor.
She was married to Don Hulse on June 28, 1939, near Center. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Ronald Hulse of Center and Mark Hulse of New Bloomfield; two daughters, Donna Gayle Sokolik of Perry and Mary Jo Hagan of Columbia; one brother, Ed O'Connor of Perry; two sisters, Jo Stuart of Perry and Louise Laws of Quincy, Ill.; and eight grandchildren, Dan Sokolik and Angie Sokolik, both of St. Louis, Stephanie Hulse of Perry, Lee Donovan Hulse and Anne Hulse, both of Center, Corey Cottrell and Casey Cottrell, both of Columbia, and Megan Brooke Hulse of New Bloomfield.
Mrs. Hulse was a retired school teacher. She taught in Ralls County schools for more than 30 years. She was a lifelong area resident.
She also was involved in the family horse business.
Mrs. Hulse was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She also was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and Center PTO. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Center, where a Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dan Sokolik, Corey Cottrell, Casey Cottrell, Lee Hulse, Dennis Stuart and Bob Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Laws, Jack Laws, Don Laws, Jerry Laws, Bill Laws, Bobby Laws, Steve O'Connor, Jim O'Connor, Ted O'Connor and John Cragen.
