Sadie Lee Dunlap Wright Turner
CENTENARIAN | 101 YEARS
1913 - 2015

Sadie Lee Turner passed away peacefully at her home in Orem, Utah, on April 16, 2015. She was born August 30, 1913, in Blue Springs, Mississippi, the daughter of Lawrence Goodman and Lillie [sic - Allie] Mae "Mamie" Duke Dunlap.

She married William Alma Wright February 17, 1937, in Vidor [sic - Beaumont, Jefferson County], Texas. To this union was born three sons. They lived in Texas and Bisbee, Arizona, and were later divorced. When she was expecting their first son, she joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an active member the rest of her life. On December 14, 1953, her oldest son's 15th birthday, she married Marven Turner and moved to his home in Turnerville, Wyoming. They worked for years together running a sawmill. One year later, she and her three sons were sealed to Marven in the Idaho Falls Temple. He passed away December 16, 1971. One of her greatest joys was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed making clothes and quilts for them. Once she was living alone, she began to spend most of her days in the temple. She lived in Wyoming for 39 years and moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho, on October 1, 1992, to be near the temple and out of too much snow. Soon, she fell on the ice, breaking her leg so she only lived there two years. She moved to St. Johns, Arizona, to be near her oldest son, and then, on September 3, 1995, she moved to Orem, Utah, and began to spend her days doing research and temple work for ancestors; she was able to accomplish much with the help of many friends and family.

She is preceded in death by her spouse; son, Donald Bernard Wright; parents, brothers: James Walter Dunlap and Fred Henry Dunlap; sister, Esma Lois Gray; stepsons: Doyle Turner (Velma), Joseph Turner (Shirley); and two grandsons. She is survived by her sons: W. Lee Wright (Paula), of Utah; Ronald Lynn Wright (Kitty), of Kansas; Kenneth Turner (Sandra) of Nebraska; stepdaughter Darleen Holt (Ralph), of Arizona; 35 grandchildren, 98 great grandchildren, 55 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.
