Arnold Duane "Arnie" Lund, Sr., 82, lifelong resident of Edgerton, passed away on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, with his family at his side. He was born on July 16, 1927, in Edgerton, son of the late Jorgen and Belinde (Christiansen) Lund. He was united in marriage to Hazel Esther Erickson on May 8, 1953, at Central Lutheran Church, Edgerton. He was a member of Central Lutheran Church.
Arnie worked many years for Franks Bros, and later retired from the Edgerton Sand and Gravel. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in his garage, playing cards, bird watching, but his special love was spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #579, the N.R.A., and Ducks Unlimited.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Hazel of Edgerton; one daughter, Cheryl (John) Kinnamon of Edgerton; two sons, Phillip (Sandra) Lund of Cromwell, IN, and Arnie (Lynne) Lund Jr. of Edgerton; eight grandchildren: Tony, Jessica, Robert, Jeremy, Cody, Sara, Stacy and Stephanie; 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters: Irene Johnson of Edgerton, Shirley (Richard) Halverson of Concord, NC, Judy (Robert) Snell, Leone (Michael) Reynolds and Linda Lund, all of Edgerton; four brothers: Wesley (Mary Ann) Lund of Edgerton, Carroll (Lin) Lund of Edgerton, Wayne (Cindy) Lund of Concord, NC, and Richard (Sheila) Lund of Edgerton; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Harland, Willard, and Robert; one half-brother, Willard; and one half-sister, Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at the Ehlert Funeral Home (US Hwy. 51 S.), Edgerton, with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.
