Jacob A. Messner, 93, of Douglassville, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015, at the Denver Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Mohnton to Wayne E. and Mary (Seifrit) Messner and was the husband of the late Edna I. (Shober) Messner, who passed away in 2012.

He was a member of the Reamstown A.A., Adamstown Rod and Gun, Ephrata American Legion, Gouglersville Fire Co., and a life member of the Adamstown VFW.

Jacob served in the U.S. Army during WWII. In the early years Jacob worked for the Bollman Hat Co. for 40 years. He also worked for the Bridgestone/Firestone Rubber Co. in Pottstown for 15 years.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Messner.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2015, from 10 to 11 am at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut Street, Denver, followed by funeral services at 11 am. Interment will take place in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
