Funeral services were held Friday at the Peoria Christian Reformed church for Ella (Mrs. John) Roose, 75, who died Feb. 16 at the New Sharon care center. Officiating at the services was the Rev. Peter Van Drunen. A quartet of Junior Deur, Robert Nikkei, Gerald Rozenboom and Gilbert P. Vander Wal sung a hymn, accompanied on piano by Mrs. Gilbert P.
Vander Wal. Organist was Mrs. Kenneth Fynaardt and the congregation joined in singing Dutch Psalm 138. Casket bearers were Henry Nieuwsma, Harold Ozinga, Bernie Vander Molen, Anthony E.' Roose, Arvin L. Roose, and Gene Roose.
Burial was in the Peoria cemetery with the Van Dyk-Duven funeral home handling arrangements.

Ella Roose was born May 29, 1901 near Leighton, the daughter of Henry and Anna Zylstra Nieuwsma. She attended country schools northwest of Peoria and on Feb. 2,1928 she was married to John A. Roose in Pella. The couple farmed north-west of Peoria most of their lifetime until Mr. Roose
retired in 1966. They continued to live on the farm until 1971 when they moved into Peoria. A year ago they moved into the New Sharon care center.

Surviving are her husband, John; three children: Betty, Mrs. Peter Jochems, rural Pella; Afton, Farmersville, Tex.;
and Shirely, Mrs. James Cormicle of Flint, Mich. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; a sister, Kate, Mrs. L ewis Vander Molen of Pella; and three brothers Gerritt Nieuwsma of Oskaloosa; and Henry and Paul Nieuwsma, both of Pella.

Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers and two sisters: Rense; Cornelia, Mrs. William Ozinga; Sarah; and John.

Mrs. Roose was baptized in the Leighton Christian Reformed church and for many years was a member of the Peoria Christian Reformed church. At the time of her death, she was an associate member of the Persis Ladies Aid.

Memorials may bedesignated to the Christian Opportunity Center.
