A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at the Eula Cemetery with Kathi Edwards officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bailey-Howard Funeral Home in Clyde.
Don was born March 10, 1932, in Clyde to Loyd W. and Annie Mae Jones Barr.
He was a lifelong resident of Clyde and a graduate of Clyde High School, and he served in the U.S. Army.
Don worked as a service writer for Rocket Oldsmobile and a car salesman for Hanner Chevrolet for 30 years.
He was also a farmer and raised cattle.
He loved horses!
Don is survived by one son, Gay Don Barr and wife Tish of Clyde; two daughters, Sandra Barr Miller of Clyde and Lori Barr Gooding and husband Ken of West Palm Beach, Florida; three brothers, Marion Barr of Durango, Colorado, Grady Barr of Abilene and Kenneth Barr of Anson; two sisters, Erma Faye Kemper of Clyde, Cathron Bennett and husband Key of New Braunsfel, and Barbara Cullen of Clyde; seven grandchildren, Troy Barr and wife Kimberly, Cody Barr, Richy Barr and wife Kristi, Wendy Quintanilla and husband Rufus, Jacob Belcher, Callie Belcher and Hagen Belcher; four great-grandchildren, Brody Barr, Alexis Barr, and Garron and Rhyer Quintanilla; and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Loyd (Junior) and Bill Barr; and one sister, Doris Cusick.
