SSGT US MARINE CORPS WORLD WAR II KOREA

MINEVILLE, N.Y. — Beatrice "Bea" M. Kent, 87, passed away on January 13th 2012 at the Ticonderoga Hospital in Ticonderoga, N.Y.

Born in Witherbee, N.Y. on February 25th 1924, she was the daughter of Nile and Teresa (Ryan) Kent.

She was a resident of Heritage Commons Nursing Home in Ticonderoga, N.Y. where she received excellent care.

She graduated from Mineville High School. Bea was a retired U.S. Marine.

She served 20 years and was honorably discharged with an American Area, World War II Victory Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal and 6th Award.

Bea retired in March of 1965 to come home and take care of her mother.

Bea also worked at Simmons Precision in Vergennes, Vt., for 10 years.

She was a communicant of St. Peter & Paul Church in Mineville, N.Y. until she became disabled.

Bea was preceded in death by her mother, father and her beloved brother, Robert Kent.

A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 17th at the All Saints Church in Mineville.

Burial will be in the spring.
