Theda "Ted" Waalkes, age 92, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 as she was surrounded by her loving family. Theda was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Jay L. Waalkes, and they were the parents of 6 children.
After her graduation from Grand Rapids Christian High School, Ted graduated from Heaney's Business College and was employed at Metal Office Furniture in Grand Rapids. Following their marriage in 1942, Ted accompanied Jay to various Air Force bases during his service in WWII. She will be remembered by her children as a faithful and loyal prayer warrior. She was a member of Lee Street Christian Reformed Church for 81 years.
