JoAnn E. Sladkey age 77, a Manitowoc resident died Friday February 28, 2014 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center of Manitowoc.
The former JoAnn E. Stanul was born on March 10, 1936 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Joseph and Emily (Yindra) Stanul. She grew up in Two Rivers and attended local schools. On February 25, 1961 JoAnn was married to David A. Sladkey in Manitowoc. David preceded JoAnn in death on April 23, 2012. In the past JoAnn worked at Paragon Electric in Two Rivers. She loved to play bingo and enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include her two special friends: Luann Rocklewitz, Manitowoc; Cheryl Scheurell, Manitowoc; three children: Steven (Darlene) Holly, Manitowoc; Sheila Free, Manitowoc; Craig (Sandra) Sladkey, Franklinton, NC; seven grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law: Alicia Stanul, Ocala, FL; Gerald (Marge) Sladkey, Two Rivers; Doris Lawrenz, Manitowoc; Nancy Kubichek, Appleton; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother: Gregory Stanul Sr., two brothers-in-law: David Lawrenz and Delmar Kubichek.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014 at the Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel, 1500 Hwy 310 Manitowoc. The Rev. Richard Klingeisen will officiate with entombment of her cremated remains in the Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the chapel on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of services at 1:00 p.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is serving the Sladkey family.
