Lee S. Adam, 87, of Perry Twp. passed away on Thurs. April 16, 2015, at his residence.

He was the husband of Mary A. (Sproesser) Adam. They were married on Oct. 1, 1949, and celebrated 65 years of marriage.

Born in Greenwich Twp. he was the son of the late Lawrence and Minnie (Bower) Adam.

Lee was a U.S. Army Veteran.

He first worked as a full-fashion knitter. In 1960, Lee went into the bar and restaurant business for 20 yrs until his retirement.

He was a member of the Hamburg Lions Club, Sunnyside Rod and Gun Club and various local fish and Game Associations. Lee was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing. He traveled extensively on hunting trips and was working on his 3rd Grand Slam.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are three sons; Kerry L., Husband of Elizabeth A. (Bowman) Adam of Pottsville; Dean A., Husband of Rosanne R. (Hummel) Adam of Perry Twp; and Jamie L., Husband of Rebecca (Carreon) Adam of Hermitage, PA; Seven grandchildren; April (Adam) Edmunds-Krumanocker, wife of Dean Krumanocker; Angela (Adam) wife of Matthew Folk; Corey Adam; and Benjamin, Nathan, Caleb and Evan Adam; 3 great-grandchildren; Cassandra and Zachery Edmunds and Collin Folk; 2 step-great granddaughters, Kate & Drista Krumanocker; and 1 step-great-great-granddaughter, Payton. Lee is also survived by 1 sister, LaJoyce (Adam), wife of Andrew Strom of N. Carolina.

He was preceded in death by One brother, Kenneth Adam, husband of Betty Adam of Breinigsville.

A memorial service will be held on Friday April 24, 2015 at 7:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. on S. 4th St in Hamburg, PA (off street parking in rear). A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to Shoemakersville Fire Company of Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania or Hamburg EMS of Hamburg, Pennsylvania.
