Age 95, joined her husband Walter (Bud) in their walk with the Lord, on April 7, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Born in Boston, Alice attended high school at St. Mary's in Cambridge, MA. She worked at the Ucinite Company in Watertown to help with the war effort and later at Boston College. She spent the better part of her life raising her family in Brighton, Allston, and Arlington, MA and Fairfax, VA. Alice and Walter moved to Cape Cod following his retirement. Alice continued to live there independently after his death in 1987 until she was 93. Alice enjoyed politics. She was a Town Meeting Member in Arlington and helped with local campaigns. Alice's Catholic faith played a central role in her life. She held leadership roles in the CCD program at St. James in Arlington. She was an active member of the Guild and the Rosary Prayer Group at Our Lady of Victory in Centerville, MA, in addition to being a Eucharistic minister. Alice was a 2009 recipient of the Marian Award presented by Bishop Coleman in recognition of personal dedication and loyal service to the Church in the Diocese of Fall River. She is honored by her children with a paver on The Mother's Walk of the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway in Boston, MA. Alice is survived by her children; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandsons, her brother, Alva A., Jr. (Jackie); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter C., daughters, Patricia T. and Elizabeth A., her parents, Alva A. Brown and Mary E. Cameron Brown, her brothers, Russell and Frederick, her grandson, Anthony Dirienzo, her great-granddaughter, Katherine Reardon and great-grandson, Nicholas Reardon.
