507th Parachute Infantry, 82nd Airborne Division. Killed after jumping into Normandy on D Day, 1944. Buried next to his brother William G. Kelley, who was killed just a few months later, also in combat. A third brother, Edgar Rew Kelley, died stateside of spinal meningitis in 1943 and is buried in Jewella Cemetery, also in Shreveport.
