John Peter Maresch Sr., 82, of 1310 S. 12th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient six weeks.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, with the Rev. Alfred Pritzl officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 24, 1878, at Baden, Germany, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Maresch. He came to the United States and Manitowoc county at the age of five years. He married Margaret Luther Jan. 23, 1900, at Manitwooc. His wife preceded him in death in 1943. Mr. Maresch had
been employed as a malster at Rahr Malting Co. 40 years jrior to retiring 15 years ago. He was a member of Holy Name Society, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Malsters Union.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Irene) Boch of Chicago and Mrs. Harold (Margaret) Bastian of Manitowoc; two sons, Leon F. of Manitowoc and John A. of Manstan, Wis.; 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
Friends may call at the funeral home where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 o'clock this Monday evening by the parish., Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus and friends.
