J.C. MUELLER IS FOUND DEAD AT NOON TODAY
Well-Known Business Man of City Dies During Day; Death After Long Illness.
John C. Mueller, one of the best known of the younger business men of the city and widely known throughout Wisconsin as a fancier of race horses, was found dead in bed at the
family home at 930 S. Eleventh street shortly after 1 o’clock this afternoon. News of the death of Mr. Mueller came as a decided shock and surprise to his many friends and acquaintances as he had been active in the conduct of his grocery store and other business interests up until the
time he died. For the past several months he suffered from yellow jaundice and was apparently not in the best of health.
Many Years in Business
For many years, Mr. Mueller conducted a grocery store in this city and was formerly a member of the Hopf and Mueller organization but in the past number of years has conducted the business under his own name. He recently embarked in the wholesale and retail oil and gasoline business, purchasing the station and equipment at Eleventh and Washington streets. His grocery store adjoined his establishment for the oil and gasoline business.
Thought to Be in Sleep
Details regarding Mr. Mueller could not be secured at the hour of going to press, other than that he was about 45 years of age and is survived by his widow and eight children.
It is thought that Mr. Mueller had been dead for several hours before the discovery was made. He was not able to pursue his business interests to the fullest extent the past several weeks and when he retired for a rest it was believed that there was nothing unusual in his condition.
Complete details regarding Mr. Mueller and the funeral arrangements will be published in tomorrow night’s edition of this paper.
