RUTH ESTELLE MCCORD EDWARDS

DENVER CITY (Special) Services for Mrs. Ruth (Carlice) Edwards, 66 of the community of Higginbotham, will be at 2 P.M. Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Denver City. The Rev. Eddie Howard, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Boyce Evans, a Lubbock Baptist evangelist.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Kenneth B. Godwin, H.B. McCord Jr., Harry Short, B. L. Thomas, E. L. Short and Truman Godwin.
Burial will be in Tahoka Cemetery under the direction of Singleton Funeral Home.
Mrs. Edwards died at 2:13 P.M. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 1974, at Yoakum County Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in Alabama, Mrs. Edwards moved to the Denver City area 14 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 863 of Denver City.
The former Ruth McCord, she married Carlice Edwards in Tahoka December 24, 1927.
Survivors include her husband; her son, Don Mac Edwards; her four sisters, Mrs. Willie Thomas of Tahoka, Mrs. Lucille Looker of Ingram, Mrs. Lena Short of Tahoka and Mrs. Polly Mott of Graham.
Two brothers, Joseph Rollin McCord Sr. and H. Bascom McCord Sr. preceded her in death.
