James graduated from Marinette High School in 1968 and served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Following service he worked for Capitol Fixtures for 30 years. In June of 1979, James married Joan Panzram in Marinette. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping.
James is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan;
son, James (Shannon) Gray of Menominee, MI;
four daughters: Amanda Freeman of Marinette, WI; Amy (Matt) Bethke of Oconto, WI; Melissa Gray of Wells, MI and Tammy (Edward) Czerwinski of Green Bay, WI;
three brothers: John, Jeff and Mike;
a sister, Donna (Gary) Bottkol;
and 17 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barb Harris and granddaughter, Kayleigh.
Per James's wishes, no services will be held.
