Vogel, Christopher T.

Christopher T. Vogel, age 26 of Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Friday evening, May 9, 2014 at his residence in Manitowoc.

He was born on May 29, 1987 in Manitowoc, son of Dennis and Cindy (Shimek) Vogel. Christopher was a graduate of Roncalli High School, Manitowoc with the class of 2005. Chris was an All-Area and All-Conference Center on the football team at Roncalli during his Junior and Senior seasons as well as an All-Conference 1st Baseman on the baseball team. Chris enjoyed deer hunting. and loved the Wisconsin Badgers, Milwaukee Brewers and any team playing the Green Bay Packers. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was to report to basic training in June.

Survivors include his parents: Dennis and Cindy Vogel, Manitowoc; one sister: Heather Vogel, Madison; two brothers and one sister-in-law: Dennis, Jr. and Kari Vogel, LaCrosse, Aaron Vogel and his fiancé, Alaina, Walnut Creek, CA; one niece and one nephew: Stella and Jack; grandparents: Viola Vogel and Floyd and Janet Shimek, all of Manitowoc; a special aunt: Janet Pribek, Manitowoc; aunts and uncles: Dale and Lisa Hietpas, Barb and John Vogel, all of Manitowoc, Kathy and Al Martyna, Oshkosh, Karen and Steve Fictum, Manitowoc, Scott and Tasha Vogel, Hubertus. Many cousins, other relatives and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Joseph Vogel and a special uncle: Don Pribek.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Pleier with Entombment to follow. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Pfeffer Funeral Home, 928 South 14th Street, Manitowoc on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM when a prayer service will be held led by Rev. Dave Pleier. The visitation will continue on Wednesday morning, May 14, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo from 10:30 AM until 11:45 AM.
