Randall was the victim of a shotgun murder as he sat in his car in a Wilmington restaurant parking lot about 11 PM.

The City of Wilmington police officer who shot and killed Randall was found guilty of murder and sentenced to fifteen years to life at the Ohio Penitentiary. The final disposition of the trial will be found in the Wilmington News-Journal, December 24, 1974.

Randall, of Martinsville, owned and operated a novelty import shop. He was a Vietnam veteran, and served three years in Germany. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.

Randall was the son of Jackson and Louise Copher Goldie, with eight brothers and two sisters.

Services were conducted by Elders Clifford R. Butler, Thomas Knotte, Rich R. Scott, and Kent E. Peterson at the Fisher funeral home. The Elders sang, and Mrs. Albert Briggs played the organ for the prelude and postlude.

Pallbearers were Phil L., Jerry L., Gary B., Timothy L., Jeffery A., Douglas C., and Bobby D. Goldie.

Burial was in Sugar Grove Cemetery.
