Brother Andrew Nolan, 87, a trappist monk at the Abbey of the Genesee Monastery in Piffard, died Monday, November 30, 2009 at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY. Brother Andrew had resided in Cooperstown, NY prior to entering the monastery.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis Nolan.
He is survived by Abbot John and all his fellow trappist monks at the Abbey of the Genesee in Piffard, his 8 children, Mary, Ann, Joseph, Martha, John, Francis, Cecelia and Christopher and their families.
He was born October 20, 1922 in Boston, Massachusetts the son of John and Mary Larkin Nolan. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II.
