Mr. Farrell Bivings Hair, age 70, of the Dawnville Community, passed away Monday, Jan. 8, 2001 in the Hamilton Medical Center.
Mr. Hair was a well-known hair stylist in Dalton.
He was the official mayor of Hairville and owner of the Hair House in Dawnville for over thirty years.
He was a loyal member and supporter of Dawnville Methodist Church.
Farrell was one of the leading men in his community being respected and esteemed for the excellent gentleman he was.
In church work, he took a prominent part, as he did in all things for the betterment of his community.
Georgians as well as neighbors will miss him.
He was the son of the late Clarence B. and Myrtle Hawkins Hair.
He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Aliene Lentz, Edra Lee Smith, and Hazel Groves and three brothers, Leonard Hair, Milburn Hair and John Luther Hair.
Survivors include his wife, Christine Hair of the residence; two daughters, Wanda Hair Taylor of Calhoun, Tenn. and Brenda Hair Standridge of Dalton; two step-children, Colleen Stephens of Marietta and Craig Stephens of Dalton; grandchildren, Reid Crawford, Colby Crawford, Lauren Crawford, Kacey Standridge, all of Dalton and Chris Taylor of Athens; sister, Glynn Lewallen of Ringgold and brothers, George Hair and Earl Hair, both of Dalton.
The funeral will be Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001 at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home with Rev. Fred Johnson and Rev. Joe Buffington officiating.
Burial will be in the Dawnville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 until 9 p.m.
