Ruth Elizabeth Bahr was born on June 19, 1920, at her parents' home south of Cosmos in Meeker County, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Carl and Clara (Beske) Laffen. Ruth was baptized as an infant, and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in her home town area.
On March of 1938, Ruth was united in marriage to Ervin Bahr. This marriage was blessed with three sons, Dellas, Eugene and Lyle. Ruth and Ervin resided and farmed in Cedar Mills, Minnesota, and in Lakeside in Renville County, Minnesota. They later moved to Hutchinson, Minnesota. They shared 36 years of marriage until Ervin passed away in 1974.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and partner in the farming operation. She also worked at the Big C Restaurant and Truck Stop. Ruth retired in 1976. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
Ruth enjoyed cooking and canning. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
When Ruth needed assistance with her daily care she became a resident of Emmanuel Home in Litchfield, Minnesota, on July 19, 2013. She passed away there on Thursday, April 23, 2015, at the age of 94 years.
