Romeo G. Goodbou, 65, a self-employed building conractor from New Milford, Conn. died recently at New Milford Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Rena (Michaud) Goodbou. He was born in Allagash July 26, 1927, a son of the late Rosaire and Sarah Kelly Goodbou, and received his education there. He was a Korean War Army veteran and moved to New Milford 32 years ago. He belonged to St. Francis Xavier Church and the Andrew B. Mygatt Post 1672 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in New Milford. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Romeo J.; four daughters, Diana Pelletier, Lynn Cable, Rhonda Duhan and Janet A. Goodbou, all of New Milford; a brother, Leonard Goodbou, of New Milford; four sisters, Ida Jandreau of Sst. Francis, Ruth O'Leary of Allagash, Geneva Dubray of Kent, Conn., and Joanne Cyr of New Milford; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Cute story from childhood:
Romeo worked as "cookie" at Willie & Mary Walker's camp. His job was to make fires and haul water. The stove had a fire box on the left of the oven and a water tank on the right. This kept water hot for the cook. Romeo was 13 at the time. On his first day of work he poured the water in the firebox. Willie laughed when retelling the story about the mess and how Romeo was scared they would send him home. They didn't. Romeo was so proud of the money he made that year. -----( as told by his sister Ida)
